I have served in many roles that have given me the unique the opportunity to be in the "trenches" with teachers but also to influence the overall technology vision of districts. By no means comprehensive, the examples below provide a brief sample of my work throughout my career. I train teachers on Google Apps suite, SMART Notebook, Learn Zillions, Study Dog, Raz-Kids/ Reading A-Z, iPads and Android devices, as well as developing class and departmental websites, educational apps and all other emerging technologies.
Systemic and Comprehensive Prof Development & Google Apps Deployment
Deploying Google Apps and Staff development in a district as well as training students can be daunting. I use a multi-faceted approach to reach as many faculty and staff members as possible.

- My first phase of deployment and Professional Development is to offer classes for all staff.
- Screen-casts for quick and contextually relevant Professional Development
- On Demand or "Sign Me Out" Professional Development
- District-wide Newsletters & Screencasts
#1 Examples of Classes
Professional Development classes are based on district needs and are aligned with our curricular initiatives. I am as flexible as possible, having sessions in the morning, lunch and after-schools time periods. The schedules of each of the fifteen buildings must be considered and principals are always consulted to best meet the needs of each individual school. Click on the pictures below to access sample class materials.

Google Apps for Administration-
Specifically for administrators and their support staff. This class teaches skills necessary to streamline systems, including using Doctopus and Goobric for collecting Lesson plans and data. |
Teach My Students-
I created this push-in initiative to instruct teachers about protocols to use when employing GAFE in daily class instruction. I taught all 9th Grade English and all 10th Grade Social Studies teachers and students. |
New Professionals Institute-
As part of our teacher induction program I teach all new members everything they need to know about functioning in a GAFE environment and navigating our dual domain district. |
#2 Examples of Screen-casts to support staff
To quickly distribute information to Staff I make screen-casts that walk the user through tips and tricks that can greatly improve his/her classroom management and efficiency with GAFE and navigating district resources.

#3 On Demand or "Sign Me Out" Professional Development
Otherwise known as my On-Demand Professional Development Coaching Model, has become a very successful initiative. This model requires initial collaboration with the administrators for each building.
Each administrator is sent proposed days for PD in their building. Once approved, a calendar (to the left) is sent to all teachers. Teachers sign up for a time-slot that is convenient to them and indicate topics and locations for coaching. The beauty of this model is that Professional Development is taking place during the regular work day, and teachers choose the topics most important to them. This is has now become a a seamless process and teachers and their principals look forward to my "Building Days".

#4 Monthly Newsletters
One of the challenges of serving a larger district is disseminating information in a quick and palatable way. The monthly newsletters are embedded in staff email so there are no "extra clicks". Each newsletter provided updates on new technology tools in district, highlights of what is happening in district and finally introductions to new courses as well as a link to sign up for upcoming classes. These Newsletters are very well received and attendance at Professional Development Classes increased as a direct result.
