It is no longer about "integrating" technology.  The idea that technology is to be integrated suggests that there is a division that needs repairing.  Embedded technology implies that the use of technology is expected in academic curricula.  Below is just a sample of the projects completed by my Computer Applications students.

Cyber Safety PSA Project

Picture

Designed to cross traditional grade boundaries, the high school students develop expertise in differing areas of Cyber Safety and then create PSAs for the middle school students.

After completion, the middle school students use Google Docs/Forms to provide feedback on the high school projects and grade the P.S.A.

1001 Flat Tales

The 1001 Flat World Tales Writing Project is a creative writing workshop in which schools around the world become connected by one wiki.

All students collaborate in a group editing project and later vote on the best stories in their group, leading to a overall winner.

6th Grade Ancient Rome Ning Project

Picture
This project has been designed collectively by the 6th grade computer applications and social studies teachers. The students' task is to utilize a closed Ning social network to assume the role of an ancient Roman figure.

Students interact in specific social classes and debate issues that have implications in today's political environment.

Research Project Using Vuvox

Picture
Students use the free online tool Vuvox to create an interactive multimedia display of specific World War II topics. Every piece of media will be referenced and connected to text and sound files. The final project has an annotated bibliography.
Once complete, all presentations are posted on each students' digital Wikispaces portfolio.

Academic Game building

Using Gamestar Mechanic students plan,  create and evaluate games that demonstrate an academic theme.
This theme has been applied to Science, Math and Language Arts by the students. Once complete all games are peer reviewed and commented on, then each builder makes modifications based on feedback they receive.
